Certified Annual Testing

Backflow Testing in Northern California

Annual backflow testing by AWWA-certified testers — we handle the test, the paperwork, and the reporting to your water district, so you stay compliant without lifting a finger.

Just like a car, a backflow preventer wears out over time — rubber checks fail, relief valves stick, and a device that passed last year can quietly stop protecting your water this year. That is why nearly every water purveyor in Northern California requires a certified backflow test every 12 months.

All Pro Backflow has been testing backflow assemblies across the greater Sacramento region since 1998. Our testers are AWWA-certified, our gauges are calibrated, and we file your results directly with your water district — so a passed test means you are done, with nothing left to chase.

What happens during a backflow test

A backflow test is a short, non-invasive check of your assembly's check valves and relief valve. Using a calibrated differential pressure gauge, our tester confirms each component holds and seals correctly so contaminated water can never reverse into the clean drinking-water supply.

Most tests take 20–30 minutes per device and require a brief water shut-off. If your device passes, we file the report the same day. If it fails, we will tell you exactly what is wrong and can usually repair it on the spot.

  • Calibrated differential pressure gauge testing
  • All assembly types: RP/RPZ, double check (DCVA), PVB & DCDA
  • Pass/fail reported and filed with your water district
  • On-the-spot repair if your device fails

Who needs annual backflow testing

Cross-connection control through backflow prevention is required in most commercial, industrial, irrigation, and multi-family situations across California. If you have a dedicated irrigation meter, a fire line, or a commercial water service, your water purveyor almost certainly requires an annual certified test.

We test single devices for property managers and homeowners and handle large portfolios for HOAs, commercial property groups, municipalities, and contractors — at any scale, on a schedule that works for you.
